Before you install an alpha

Alpha builds change often. Try them with a copy of a project folder, and keep a copy of anything important before a new version opens it, because a newer version may migrate the project format. On Windows the alpha installer is not yet code-signed, so SmartScreen may ask you to confirm.

Layertrail never checks for updates in the background. Use Help → Check for Updates… to open the releases page. See Updating Layertrail.
