Finding things

Type in the search field to match node names and property values. Layertrail shows the exact number of matches and keeps the tree around them, so you can see where each result sits. Press Enter and Shift+Enter to step through results.

Search uses a local full-text index stored inside the project’s .layertrail folder. It’s rebuilt automatically when needed, and never leaves your machine.

Open the filter panel to narrow results. Every active filter must match, and filters work with or without search text.

  • Scope. Only the selected node and its descendants. Use selected captures the current selection; changing selection later doesn’t silently change the filter.
  • Template. Only nodes using a given template.
  • Property. One property, matched exactly or as a substring. Values match the way they’re displayed, so true or 42 work as typed.
  • Missing a required value. Nodes whose template requires a field they don’t have, which is handy for auditing data quality after an import.

Clear all removes filters but keeps your search text. Escape in the search field clears both.

Switch from Tree to Table to see the same results as rows. Pick which properties appear as columns, sort by any column, and export the result set to CSV. The switch keeps your filters and selection.
